The mysterious, sultry, mysterious city of “black” oil money of Baku is one of the most exotic and attractive places in the East. But it is too little for Baku to please its guests with a rich cultural program, a mass of historical sights or traditional hospitality and delicious cuisine. After all, this city is located on the coast of the “Land of Lights”, which means that the burning flame rages in the chest of each of its inhabitants. Best of all, this is proved by an ultramodern architectural complex, which has become a new symbol of the capital of Azerbaijan. Its name speaks for itself – Flame Towers, that is, “fiery” or “flaming” towers – these are three giant buildings, shaped like tongues of fire.
The highest buildings in Azerbaijan, which are visible from anywhere in Baku, in their design and, most importantly, in their evening illumination really resemble a huge bonfire raging in the west of the city, on a high hill, illuminating everything around with its reddish glow. The view is indescribable, but what is even nicer is absolutely free. Every evening on the facade of the Flame Towers complex LEDs turns on, constantly broadcasting the movement of the fire. This stunningly spectacular spectacle, coupled with the huge size of the towers, turns the buildings into three giant torches.
According to a survey of the influential urban forum skyscrapercity.com, the coverage of Flame Towers towers was recognized as the best in the world.
To admire the evening panorama of Flame Towers in a refined atmosphere, look at the bar on the top floor of the Hilton hotel or the Sky Opera club, which is located in a skyscraper in the center of Baku on the 29th floor.
Today, the towers house the luxurious Fairmont Baku at the Flame Towers hotel, as well as office space and residential apartments. The construction of the complex was carried out for almost five years, from 2007 to 2012, although it was originally planned to finish the buildings by 2010. By the way, despite the seeming absolute identity, the buildings have a different height – each higher than the previous 20-30 m – their height is 140, 160 and 190 m.
Locals have a common opinion that the appearance of Flame Towers is associated with the emblem of the city of Baku, which shows three flames.
How to get there
Address: Mehdi Huseynzade Street, 1a. The easiest way to get to the towers is by the funicular, although you don’t have to do anything directly at the base of Flame Towers if you didn’t stop at the local hotel. The best view of the “Burning Tower” opens from the embankment. To admire the panorama of the illuminated complex in a refined atmosphere, look at the bar on the top floor of the Hilton Hotel or at the Sky Opera Club, which is located in the skyscraper in the center of Baku on the 29th floor.
