A landmark place for the whole country is not far from the main base of the Azerbaijani Navy – this is the State Flag Square, where the national flag of the Republic rises and the state symbols are depicted – the emblem, anthem and map of Azerbaijan made of gilded bronze. The Museum of the State Flag (the building in the form of an eight-pointed star), where orders, medals, money, postage stamps, flags and other exhibits telling about the history of the country, are displayed here.

Until 2011, the flagpole, which was installed on the square, was considered the highest in the world – its 162 m even got into the Guinness Book of Records. But then this achievement interrupted Dushanbe. The imagination and size of the flag amaze 75 by 35 m, weight – about 350 kg.
